Ms. Joanna U. Dawson is a results-driven finance leader with over 15 years of experience in financial planning, internal controls, and process optimization. Currently serving as a Director of Finance and Compliance, she has a proven track record of driving organizational success across diverse sectors, including higher education search firms, non-profits, and publicly traded entities.

Throughout her career, Ms. Dawson has excelled in managing complex financial operations, from leading SEC filings and GAAP transitions to overseeing grant management and M&A due diligence. Her professional expertise is anchored by a foundational background in audit with Price Waterhouse Coopers and significant leadership roles in corporate accounting and financial reporting.

A U.S. Army veteran, Ms. Dawson previously served as a Signals Intelligence Analyst and Linguist, where she held a Top Secret (SCI) clearance and earned multiple Army Commendation Medals. This background in high-stakes intelligence work informs her analytical precision and commitment to integrity.

Ms. Dawson holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from Marietta College and a Master of Science in Accountancy from San Diego State University. She is a CPA (eligible for renewal) and is recognized for her collaborative leadership and strategic approach to financial management.
