St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) invites applications and nominations for the position of Treasurer & Vice President of Finance. Serving as the College’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and as a key member, leader, and collegial partner on the President’s Cabinet, the Treasurer & Vice President of Finance serves as chief advisor to the President in strategic planning for the acquisition, use, and growth of campus-wide resources, with responsibility for accounting and finance, investment management, purchasing, internal audit, insurance and risk management, and advancement and endowment financial management.

St. Thomas Aquinas College is an independent liberal arts college located on a 76-acre campus in Sparkill, NY, just 15 miles north of New York City. Founded in 1952 by the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill as a teaching college, the College offers over 100 programs through its four schools — the School of Arts & Social Sciences, the School of Business, the School of Education, and the School of STEM — and enrolled approximately 1,200 students in Fall 2025. As of June 30, 2026, STAC had approximately $77 million in net assets, and its net revenues are approximately $37 million, mostly generated by net tuition or auxiliary housing and meals.

Under the leadership of President Kenneth Daly, the next CFO will build upon the sound foundation already in place, bringing deep financial acumen, a systems approach, a fresh perspective, and a commitment to the values of STAC, to this critical leadership role as the College works to further strengthen its vitality.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (master’s degree and/or CPA preferred);
  • Higher education experience preferred; candidates from other complex, mission-driven organizations with demonstrated ability to transition successfully into higher education will also be considered;
  • A demonstrated track record of sound financial leadership, particularly in the areas of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, pricing/affordability, and developing financial systems, processes, and procedures;
  • ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems literacy and significant experience in overseeing financial and accounting software, preferably knowledge and prior experience with Ellucian Banner;
  • Change management skills, including the ability to generate positive momentum through short-term wins, garner support for initiatives, and work through resistance to change; and
  • A commitment to the student-centered mission and Dominican values of STAC.

The salary range for this position is $150,000-$200,000 per year.
