The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) seeks an accomplished, collaborative, and visionary leader to serve as its next Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs (VCASA). Reporting to the Chancellor and serving on the Chancellor’s Cabinet, the Vice Chancellor is NSHE’s chief academic and student affairs officer, providing strategic leadership for academic quality, student success, research competitiveness, and educational innovation across Nevada’s public higher education system.

This is an exceptional opportunity to shape higher education policy and practice in one of the nation’s fastest-growing states. The Vice Chancellor will collaborate with the Board of Regents, institutional presidents, chief academic and student affairs officers, faculty leaders, legislators, business partners, and state agencies to advance a coordinated vision that strengthens educational attainment, workforce development, research excellence, and economic prosperity throughout Nevada.

NSHE is governed by the Board of Regents and led by the Chancellor, its chief executive officer. The System serves more than 106,000 students and employs approximately 15,000 faculty and staff across eight institutions:

• University of Nevada, Reno
• University of Nevada, Las Vegas
• Nevada State University
• College of Southern Nevada
• Great Basin College
• Truckee Meadows Community College
• Western Nevada College
• Nevada System Research Institute (Desert Research Institute)

As NSHE’s senior academic executive, the Vice Chancellor works closely with the Chancellor and institutional presidents to develop and implement systemwide academic strategies that advance student success, academic excellence, research competitiveness, innovation, and workforce responsiveness.
