Meredith College invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA), a senior leader and key member of the President’s Executive Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the student experience at one of the nation’s leading independent women’s colleges. Meredith is known for its strong academics, vibrant campus life, and deeply connected community grounded in a mission to develop intellectually, socially, and ethically strong women.
Reporting to the President, the VPSA serves as the College’s chief advocate for student wellbeing, engagement, and co-curricular life, providing strategic leadership for a comprehensive division that includes the Dean of Students office, residence life, counseling and health services, career planning, student leadership and service, the chaplain’s office, and athletics. The VPSA will partner closely with campus and board leadership to advance a forward-looking vision for student life that reflects the evolving needs of today’s students while honoring Meredith’s traditions and culture of sisterhood. This leader will play a central role in enhancing student engagement, strengthening mental health and wellness resources, supporting the continued growth of athletics as an enrollment driver, improving residential and campus life infrastructure, and fostering collaboration across academic and administrative units to ensure a cohesive student experience.
The ideal candidate will be a student-centered and highly visible leader who brings energy, empathy, and strategic insight to the role. They will be an effective communicator and relationship builder, capable of engaging students, faculty, staff, alumnae, and trustees while leading a dedicated and experienced team. This individual will demonstrate a deep understanding of student development and a strong commitment to advancing the mission of a women’s college within a dynamic and changing higher education landscape.
Meredith offers an ideal location in Raleigh and near the world-renowned Research Triangle Park. As the state capital, Raleigh has a dynamic downtown that boasts lively arts, music, nightlife, retail, and culinary scenes. More than 176,000 college and university students reside in this area, the country’s premier research and development hub, with many opportunities for internships, clinical and field experiences, and potential employment after graduation.
