Valparaiso University (“Valpo”), a distinguished Lutheran institution rooted in academic excellence and values-driven education, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Located in the economically and culturally growing region of Northwest Indiana within the Chicagoland area, Valpo seeks an engaged, collaborative, dynamic, and entrepreneurial academic leader.

Valpo was founded in 1859 and offers a thorough foundation in the liberal arts as well as professional education and graduate study, helping students discern their pathway to lifelong professional, personal, and spiritual growth. The College of Arts and Sciences is the oldest and largest college and is home to 17 departments which offer more than 40 majors with both undergraduate and master’s degrees. The Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the College and reports directly to Provost Eric W. Johnson ’87, Ph.D. The Dean is responsible for all aspects of planning, leadership, and administration of the College and is expected to begin in July 2026.
