McDaniel College, a thriving and distinguished liberal arts institution located in Westminster, Maryland, invites applications for a visionary computer science educator or professional for the Inaugural Endowed Professor of Computer Science and Technology Innovation, a 12-month open rank position. This unique role is designed for a leader with industry experience and a passion for education who can bridge the gap between academia and the technology industry, advance applied and interdisciplinary research and experiential learning, and embed innovation into McDaniel’s computer science curriculum—ensuring graduates are fully prepared to enter a rapidly evolving technology sector.
Position Highlights:
- Reduced teaching load: 3 courses per year (half the standard), allowing 50% effort toward developing industry partnerships and engagement. 12-month position open to all academic ranks.
- Industry engagement: Build and sustain collaborations with Maryland technology companies and oversee a robust internship program for students.
- High-impact research opportunities: Integrate applied and interdisciplinary research and experiential learning into the undergraduate Computer Science curriculum.
- Strong institutional support: Endowed operational budget and resources to foster innovation, student success, and technology development.
McDaniel is located approximately 45 minutes from Baltimore and 1–1.25 hours from Washington, D.C., both recognized technology hubs with a highly skilled tech workforce, providing an ideal environment to connect students with industry and prepare the next generation of technology leaders.
