Georgia College & State University (GCSU), Georgia’s designated public liberal arts university, invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the John H. Lounsbury College of Education (Dean). The university’s beautiful and historic campus is located downtown in Milledgeville, Georgia. GCSU has its highest enrollment of 7,300 students across undergraduate and graduate programs and is consistently ranked among the top public universities in the region. Georgia College is part of the University System of Georgia. The new Dean is desired to assume office on or before July 1, 2026.
The John H. Lounsbury College of Education offers a comprehensive portfolio of programs designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s educators. The college maintains a strong tradition of undergraduate teacher preparation through a face-to-face mentor-led field-based cohort model, which provides students with personalized guidance, close faculty engagement, and deep connections to partner schools. The Dean is the chief academic and administrative leader of the John H.
