The University of St. Francis (USF) welcomes applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Business Affairs (VPBA). USF is a private, Catholic university in Joliet, IL founded in 1920 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate. Guided by Franciscan values of respect, integrity, service, and compassion, USF serves a community of nearly 3,200 students. The University seeks an exceptional individual able to provide strategic, collaborative, and astute financial leadership to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing higher education environment.
Reporting to the President, the VPBA will serve as a trusted advisor to the President and Board, collaborate with other vice-presidents, and communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other stakeholders. The University has identified three early priorities for the next VPBA: assuring financial strength through development and implementation of sound fiscal policy (including controls, processes, and budgets), developing and implementing short- and long-term financial plans, and spearhead selected initiatives particularly within their areas of oversight.
The VPBA is ultimately responsible for the operations of the finance area (accounting, budgeting, grants, student accounts, internal controls, financial reporting, et.) as well as human resources, and is a key advisor to the President and Board regarding stewardship of the University’s resources. By combining strategic oversight, operational leadership, financial acumen, and strong communication skills, the VPBA will play a pivotal role in advancing USF’s financial strength and long-term success.
