The Board of Trustees at William Peace University (Peace) has launched a search for the University’s next president. Located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, Peace is a private, career-focused liberal arts institution with a diverse community of nearly 800 students. The new president is expected to take office on July 1, 2026.
Peace is a regionally-ranked, award-winning institution offering cutting-edge majors and immersive learning experiences for students with options of online programs targeting adults. With an applied, adaptive, and nimble educational approach, Peace awards baccalaureate degrees in over 30 undergraduate and 10 professional online programs, 70% of which are taught by 34 full-time faculty. The president has seven direct reports, five of whom are on the Senior Leadership Team. The president serves as a non-voting ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees. The university’s location adjacent to Research Triangle Park presents unparalleled opportunities for strategic partnerships with business and industry leaders, strengthening Peace’s immersive learning model while demonstrating clear pathways from education to meaningful careers—a priority for both students and parents.
The Board of Trustees seeks a strategic, results-oriented leader who will accelerate the university’s trajectory and advance its vision. The next president will inherit a university positioned for growth, building on the strategic foundation established by President Lynn Morton. The ideal candidate will leverage existing momentum while building meaningful partnerships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the broader community to ensure Peace remains competitive and relevant in today’s higher education landscape. Experience in higher education is preferred.
