Gettysburg College invites nominations and applications for the position of Director of the Center for Global Education (CGE). Located in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, in close proximity to Harrisburg, PA, Washington D.C., and Baltimore, MD, Gettysburg is a highly selective four-year college of liberal arts and sciences with approximately 2,300 students from 41 states and 58 countries. The new CGE Director is expected to take office in early Fall 2024.
Reporting to the Provost, Dr. Jamila Bookwala, the Director will lead the Center for Global Education which develops and manages wide-ranging global study programs and partnerships and supports curricular and faculty development initiatives, including the development and delivery of faculty-led global education experiences. The CGE Director will provide campus-wide vision and leadership for global education initiatives in a highly collaborative environment. Leading the CGE staff, including the Associate Director, support staff, and student workers, and collaborating with the Office of International Student Services, the CGE Director will collaborate with academic departments and other key stakeholders in the integration of the global experience with the on-campus curriculum.
Gettysburg seeks an individual to engage the campus community to highlight the role a global education plays in enhancing the intellectual climate and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion. As the CGE Director, this individual will develop, implement, and evaluate activities for students and faculty participating in global experiences in addition to developing and supporting curricular and faculty development initiatives supporting internationalization efforts.
